Commissioned by Ceres Projecten (Vestia) VMX made a design for 16 single-family houses (low-rise) and 72 apartments (high-rise) in Naaldwijk. The houses and apartments are part of Hoogeland, a new expansion neighborhood on the outskirts of Naaldwijk. The low-rise and high-rise together form a green axis in the centre of the new plan. This green axis (park) is crossed by a blue axis (waterway) to create a basic organizational scheme for the urban plan.

The intention of the preliminary design is to optimize the green of the park by placing the houses as a series of round freestanding objects in it and by keeping cars out of sight as much as possible. The round objects let the green flow in between and create views through the park as well as optimizing the views from the houses. On the south side the park will also have a playground to strengthen the communal use.

The 16 single-family houses are designed as four round objects consisting of four houses each with gardens (shared or private) in-between. The parking spaces are moved to the edge of the park to optimize the feeling of living in a park. The apartments are grouped in three round apartment buildings with varying heights. The parking is positioned underneath the buildings in green mounds strengthening the flowing of the landscape between the buildings.
